It may be nearing the end of term but all of our sections are still all systems go!
Danelaw Cubs were at Overstone where they took part in shooting, Archery, climbing and a teamwork challlenge.
Saxon Scouts learnt how to sew on their own badges, roll their neckers correctly and shine their shoes. They will all look fantastic and smart and be able to maintain these standards all by themselves now with skills they have learnt that will be useful throughout life.
Viking Scouts were also at Overstone doing shooting and Archery ( a few of Danelaw are moving up to Vikings so actually had a sneaky bit of practice on Monday!) A few were a little disappointed that they hadn’t hit the target as much as they would have liked but we discussed that the only competition was with themselves and how they would improve with future goes.
When the Scouts had gone home the leaders had a little go at shooting too, remember it’s not just the young people that can learn new skills and try new things!
Who needs Silverstone when Mercia Cubs have a Pinewood Derby!
Last week they were presented with a lump of wood and some wheels! They had to create a vehicle of their own creation, as fancy or as plain as they wanted, ready to race this week.
So that’s the end of another busy week at 1st Hardingstone!
If you’d like to get your young person involved (or you fancy having a go yourself!) get in touch!
